1. How to Create an Account

It´s a unique website for all requests (abstract, poster and Proposal submissions, membership and, registration).

  • IPPC-Brazil 2019 uses an online registration process.
  • Individuals are asked to fill in an online registration form and choose the appropriate options.
  • Upon submission of the form, it will be reviewed automatically (or by staff if needed).
  • An email message will be forwarded to the registered individual to confirm the completion of each registration when payment is complete.

  • Check for a confirmation email message after 12-24 hours
  • Status of your abstract will be sent to you via email
  • Please clear-list the isps@phytoessence.org email address to receive messages, otherwise our messages may end up in the SPAM folder of your email account.

Payment Method

IPPC-Brazil 2019 is able only to receive funds in dollars or any other currency paid using a valid credit card. Please, remember to activate your credit card for international payments.

2. How to submit an Abstract

Regardless of the participation type, the abstract should follow the same instructions as below.

Abstract overview

  • Initiate with your user account by following the instructions above;
  • Abstracts will be selected for presentation in one of these two presentation formats: Oral and Poster;
  • Everyone can submit a max of 2 abstracts;
  • At least one author per abstract must register after an *abstract is accepted *, if this does not happen, the presentation of the accepted abstract is not allowed;
  • The abstract deadline is September 16th. There is no fee for submission of an abstract, but if you do not register and pay the outstanding registration fee in full by the deadline of October 22th, the abstract will not appear in the programme.

  • Abstracts not exceeding 400 words in double space are required to be submitted online only;
  • Abstracts describing a review or case-study need not be structured;
  • All abstracts need to be original and not presented in any other event or publication online or in print;
  • The organizing committee reserves the right to edit abstracts for clarity or correctness of English.

Abstracts shall be organized in the following format

Background (Introduction): Present relevant findings to justify your project (Max. 90 words). Materials and Methods: Describe and justify the appropriateness of methods utilized in your research, use the most concise language in this section. Avoid including any general information (Max. 110 words). Results and discussion: Report the most significant findings of your research. Discuss any variation in comparison to other reported results in your reference, and concisely provide supporting data for any new findings. (Max. 150 words). Conclusions: Present learned lessons in less than four sentences that must include guidance and any recommendation for future research. (Max. 50 words).

Checklist before submission

The abstracts which do not meet the recommendations will be asked for revisions.

  • Abstracts shall be based on scientific evidence and new findings;
  • The text must be written in English, using the most concise language and not exceeding 400 words;
  • Free of any grammatical error;
  • Capitalize the first letter of title only;
  • Abstracts of the review work shall be prepared in one paragraph;
  • The text must be free from any embedded graphics including charts, pictures, and videos;
  • Avoid citation (in-text references) in the abstract;
  • Free of any trademark, marketing language, list of names of affiliation of any co-author;
  • Use italics for Latin or scientific names of species is recommended;
  • Scientific symbols and characters shall use MS-Word character formatting;
  • Keywords shall be listed ((maximum 6 words);
  • Authors (not exceeding 7).

3. How to prepare a Poster

Text format

Text formatting preferable Font sizes:
  • Authors’ names: 30
  • Authors’ addresses: 24
  • Subtitles and captions for tables, graphs, and pictures: 24
  • All other text: 20
  • Footer and references: 16
  • Use Single or two colors only
  • Footer and references: 16

Poster language

Prepare the abstract of your posters in English language only.
  • Delegates presenting posters will be provided with freestanding poster boards of size 100 x 75 cm. Posters could be fixed using PUSHPINS which will be made available by the organizers at the venue. The use of any kind of tape or another adhesive will not be permitted.

    Poster Content and the title of the abstract must be relevant to the theme of the event and complimentary. Authors must meet eligibility criteria for inclusion in the authors’ list of any abstract. Eligibility is obtained by any measurable contribution of each author.

    • Give considerable thought to the design and preparation of your presentation so that it is effective and informative
    • Prepare your poster presentation slide in Microsoft PowerPoint™ preferably using Microsoft Windows 7 or higher, and Microsoft Office 2010 or later
    • Set its print size to 100 cm wide x 75 cm high in landscape orientation (avoid portrait).

4. Oral Presentation Guidelines

Slides presentation

Give considerable thought to the design and preparation of your presentation.
    • Prepare your presentation slides in Microsoft PowerPoint™ preferably using Microsoft Windows 7 or higher, and/or Microsoft Office 2010.
    • Delivery of your information becomes more effective when following are considered:
      • Time your presentations to avoid rushing or running out of time
    • Use limited text in each slide with the highest contrast between text and background colors
    • Use high-resolution graphics, data tables, charts and other image formats
    • Avoid adding embedded video or audio
    • Contact us if you need to include any video in your presentation.

Presentation language

    • Prepare your slides in English language only

2. Insert your e-mail address and password to log in. In case you are still not registered, create your user own account clicking on Sign up at the bottom right corner of the page;
3. Click on Abstract;
4. On the welcoming window click on Article at the top right corner;
5. In the suspended menu which will open, click on Submit article;
6. In the field Send to,  the option IPPC-Brazil 2019 will be selected;
7. In the field Expertise below choose your area of expertise;
8. Choose the type of your article for submission, if it is a Review article or a Research article;
9. Choose the type of presentation: Oral or Poster;
10. Choose the scope of your article in the suspended menu;
11. Provide the title of your article and click Next;
12. Fill in the Author fields with first and last name, e-mail address and affiliation, which is the university or research centre where you are affiliated. If there is more than one author, add as much as you want clicking on the button plus sign (+).
Fill in Corresponding author only if the person to be contacted through e-mail is other than the main author.
Fill in Presenting author only if the person who will present the abstract is other than the main author;
13. Click Next;
14. Enter the keywords related to the article you are submitting (max. 6 keywords);
Attention: If on step 8 you chose Review there will be only one section named Abstract to fill in for inserting the text of your review article.
If you chose Research there will be four sections named Background, Material and Methods, Result, and Discussion and Conclusion to fill in;
15. Click Next;
16. Upload a WORD file (not a pdf file!) of your article clicking on Browse;
17. After uploading is complete, click on Submit (click here to download the template).
After that, your article will be assessed by the scientific committee.
On the top right corner of the following page, you can click on Article, and View the article to check if your article was successfully submitted.
18. If you wish to change anything in your article, check the corresponding ID box and on the bottom center of the screen click on the Pencil symbol. You can also view your article by clicking on the Eye symbol. If you wish to delete the article, click on the Trash bin symbol.

9. Escolha o tipo de apresentação: Oral ou Pôster;
10. Escolha o escopo do seu artigo no menu suspenso;
11. Forneça o título do seu artigo e clique em Next;
12. Preencha os campos Autor com nome e sobrenome, endereço de e-mail e afiliação, que é a universidade ou centro de pesquisa onde você está afiliado. Se houver mais de um autor, adicione quantos quiser clicando no botão sinal de soma (+);
Preencha Corresponding author somente se a pessoa a ser contatada por e-mail for diferente do autor principal;
Preencha Presenting author apenas se a pessoa que apresentará o resumo for diferente do autor principal;
13. Clique em Next;
14. Insira as palavras-chave relacionadas ao artigo que você está enviando (no máximo 6 palavras-chave);
Atenção: Se na etapa 8 você escolheu Review, haverá apenas uma seção para preencher, chamada Abstract, para inserir o texto do artigo de revisão.
Se você escolher Research, haverá quatro seções denominadas Background, Material and Methods, Result e Discussion and Conclusion para preencher;
15. Clique em Next;
16. Carregue um arquivo de formato WORD (não um arquivo pdf!) do seu artigo clicando em Browse (clique aqui para baixar o modelo em  Word);
17. Depois que o upload estiver concluído, clique em Submit.
Depois disso, o seu artigo será avaliado pelo comitê científico.
No canto superior direito da página seguinte, você pode clicar em Article e View article para verificar se o seu artigo foi enviado com sucesso.
18. Caso deseje alterar algo em seu artigo, marque a caixa ID correspondente e, na parte inferior central da tela, clique no símbolo Lápis. Você também pode ver seu artigo clicando no símbolo Olho. Caso deseje excluir o artigo, clique no símbolo Lixeira.

Abstract Book published with an ISSN

Abstracts that are accepted will be published in the congress proceedings providing at least one author completes registration (including payment). The conference proceedings is a book published with an ISSN at the International Journal of Phytocosmetics and Natural Ingredients (IJPNI).

Restrictions

The corresponding author of an original abstract is the responsible individual to inform other authors about the status of the abstract and their authorship rights.  Secretariat may consider removal of an abstract if any of the below requirements is not met by submission deadline:
      • Abstracts must be submitted in English with a specific focus
      • Do not submit more than two abstracts for each presenter
      • All steps on the abstract submission must be completed
      • Only one author can be identified as the presenter and make the presentation
      • An author may not present more than 2 abstracts during IPPC-Brazil 2019
      • Abstracts must be 400 words or less, its originality will be checked using CrossCheck services
